Is your home or workplace making you sick?
Microbes are everywhere and they love building materials and furniture to live on. If there is moisture in your house or building microbes will develop and grow on the surface by producing mycotoxins, microbial volatile organic compounds and endotoxins. They can severely impact the indoor air quality which interns affect the health of the occupants.
Causes to look out for mould are;
Water Damaged timber used in building a home Insufficient subfloor ventilation Garden beds built up against the house Condensation Roof and gutter leaks Humid area >70% humidity Bad drainage surrounding the house Building at the base of a hill or into a hill Incomplete water proofing in we areas
You cannot always smell mould or see mould; however, it affects almost 1 in 3 homes. Fungi, bacteria, spores' mycotoxins and endotoxins are commonly responsible for the health issues linked with water damage. 24% of the population do not have the ability to create antibodies to mould. If you are one of these people and you walk into a water damaged home or office space it results in inflammation of their body and their brain. With this inflammation it is commonly misdiagnosed as Fibromyalgia, mental illness and chronic fatigue syndrome. This inflammation response does not turn off. The rest of the population has the ability to produce the required antibodies where their bodies can recognise and remove the antigens from the body. This is why with some couples one partner can be fine and the other can be constantly sick with multiple symptoms.
So what do you do if you think that you have toxic mould in your home and you are experiencing symptoms?
